Crush: Dude? Dude? Focus dude… Dude?
[Marlin wakes up]
Crush: Oh, he lives. Hey, dude!
Marlin: Oh… What happened?
Crush: Saw the whole thing, dude. First you were all like “whoa”, and we were like “whoa”, and you were like “whoa…”
Marlin: What are you talking about?
Crush: You, Mini-Man, takin’ on the jellies. You’ve got serious thrill issues, dude. Awesome.
ONLY 7 sleeps until Cuboree 2008 “World of Wonders” starts!
Only 7 days; serious thrill issues, dude. Awesome.
1. Organisation and Planning
Our programme is a little tighter this time as we have longer on the activity bases allowing for a sit down period for morning and afternoon tea. Bearing in mind the tightness of the programme and the feedback we received from the previous Cuboree, we will not be attending the Campfire in the mornings. Instead, Gunyah teams will be leading their sub-camp, in packs to the activities in the morning and afternoon. It will be important for you to be on time - not late and not too early. — Liz Golec

3. Hand washing
Each Pack is to set up a hand washing table at their Pack Gateway so everyone washes their hands before proceeding to the Marquee for meals, this will also help with meal timings. With nearly 400 people in the Marquee, it would create a traffic jam if all needed to wash their hands at the entrance. Each pack camp site has a tap within there area. The object is to get our Cubs with their line leaders down into the dining marquee in shortest time.
4. Eating Gear
Our big top (marquee) management would like to strongly suggest that each Line Leader takes a plastic box with a lid to keep “their six” cutlery and crockery in a dust free environment between meals. This box can be left in the Marquee. Each Line Leader will be responsible for the organisation of tea towels for the duration of the Cuboree. They will not be available from the kitchen. — Greg Nash
5. Special Diets
We at sub 4 are having serious difficulties getting food allergy/special dietary needs information. We have discovered that some of the information from the application forms has not been transposed correctly. It is really important that every line leader checks their six for this information and then emails our Catering Manager (Special Diets) Belinda Dowell. If you or your line leaders can do some checking please do so. As I’m discovering, most of this can go back to little or no info on the application form. For this one, I need your help with information as quickly as possible to ensure that we can cater for all these needs. — Greg Nash
If your Cubs have special dietary requirements, please get the information through to Belinda Dowell (see separate email for contact details) as the info flow has not been wonderful. Better to let her know again that to find out that the information isn’t on record.
6. Gateway + Fence
1st Eltham Gellibrand has purchased a 1.8m x 50m (18oz) Hessian Bolt that will work as our fence, as we will be able to re use the Hessian for other events. I have 20 x starposts (with caps) and 20 x 1.8m tomato stakes to support the Hessian.I’ll bring up the construction poles that we use at JOTI/JOTA to lash up as the gateway frame. I also managed to get two reasonable sized palms for the gateway.

I haven’t manage to track down the clam pools, has anyone seen these in their travels?
We will need to tee up the beach sand to come up on the truck.
As we are a beach resort we could also have beach volley ball inside the sub camp. I have a ball, can we borrow a net?

hey darren we have and a set of the clam shells as well as a volleyball net if they are still required….let me know.
@Simon
Yes, please bring along both the clam shells and net if you can - give me a yell if transport is an issue. We’ll use one shell for the gateway and the other for the fishing game in the camp site.
